I think you access rec.skiing (there is also rec.backcountry and rec.climbing)
through a Usenet news reader. This lets you reply directly to the author of
an article, reply publicly to an article, or submit your own article. Pretty
nifty!. I don't know how you get access to a reader if your Internet
access does not it to you. Your 'computer boss' (sys admin?) should be able
to help.
