Yes, there does not seem to be much activity with the Mountaineering
Discussion Group. Perhaps lack of purpose and lack of acquaintance
is a problem? I would like to use the list to obtain first-hand info
on climbing areas that I plan to visit. For example, I have a
conference in Dallas, TX next May - I would like to get info on
possible rock climbing sites within 100 miles of Dallas. What if
list members were to send out a type of "resume" sometime over the
next week so we can get an idea of who is out there? I suggest
something like the following:

Name:
Region/Location of Residence:
Primary Climbing Activities: (rock, ice, mountaineering,
competition, etc.)
Climbing Areas Most Familiar With:

As an example, for me:

Name: Phil Watts
Region: North Central USA
Activities: Rock climbing, alpine mountaineering, climbing
physiology research.
Most Familiar With: North Cascades (Washington), Devil's Lake,
Wisconsin, Northern Michigan.
