Sounds very much like the gorge climbing we do here in the states, except
that you don't usually have to worry about the tides . Usually you
have to worry about getting out once you've gotten in.

I'll ask about the chalk climbs in this message rather than in a separate
message... Are you refering to Dover? Just curious. No, I've never
climbed chalk with ice axes. But I have used my axe on frozen soil and
it works well there. Mixed climbs.
