Subj: re. Passing on the Passion

This is a bit outside the normal subject matter of Mount-L, but I have been
ruminating about what it means to pass on once's passion for climbing to sons
and daughters. I, of course, want that for my two boys. One may develop that
passion, the other likely will not. I know that in some climbing family, the
issue never arises; it just happens. I also have friends who claim they hope
their kids adopt other loves, other pursuits. I'd be interested in other's
